On July 7, concerts will be held in a number of cities all over the world to help raise awareness of climate change. Shanghai is among the cities hosting concerts, with others being held in Sydney, Tokyo, Istanbul, Johannesburg, Hamburg, London, Rio de Janeiro and New York.
At the Shanghai concert, the audience will get to see artists from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, including Anthony Wong, Eason Chan, Evonne Hsu, Huang Xia Ming, and the 12 Girls Band, among others. Singer Sarah Brightman will be the only international performer at the concert.
Al Gore has supported the concerts since the idea first came up, and he hopes they will unite more people in the fight against global climate change.
"The climate crisis affects us all. Live Earth is about uniting all of us to be a part of the solution," Mr Gore said.
